The Clean Streets Initiative works to remove litter from our streets and lanes to encourage cleaner rejuvenated street fronts to maintain and improve Strathcona’s streetscape.
The SBIA has developed a street cleaning program with United We Can (a Downtown Eastside organization that creates jobs & job training for inner city residents) and Coast Mental Health Foundation (a Vancouver organization that assists recovery for mental health clients through gainful employment) to sweep sidewalks and storefronts throughout the Strathcona BIA.

Vancouver Coastal Health will pick up discarded, used needles. Those who find a needle can call the Needle Pick-Up Hotline at 604-657-6561 and VCH will pick up the needle within 24 hours.
