Strathcona hosts more than 20 annual events including Vancouver’s longest running community festival, the Powell Street Festival. From May through December the neighbourhood is alive with activities from historic walking tours, flea markets and garden sales, to film festivals, food bazaars and culture crawls. Strathcona has a vibrant arts scene with a number of artists living and working in the community. Its events, arts and entertainment scene highlight Strathcona’s rich cultural heritage and its historical importance as Vancouver’s first neighbourhood. Check out the Strathcona Calendar of Events for a complete event listing and contact information for each organizing committee.
Eastside Culture Crawl http://www.eastsideculturecrawl.com/
The Eastside Culture Crawl is an annual free 3-day visual arts festival. This event involves artists in their studios who work on the east side of Vancouver, in an area bounded by Main Street to Commercial Drive and from First Avenue north to the waterfront.
